Iran the world’s largest producer of pistachios

Pistachio trees require cold winters and long, hot summers for growing and bearing. The temperature can range from -10 ° C in winters to 40 ° in summers which can be easily found in desert-type climates of Iran.

The major pistachio producing countries are Iran, the United States and Turkey. Although, the United States has increased its share of global production in recent years, but Iran still is the major provider of pistachios in the world and Iranian pistachios are well-known as the most qualified type of pistachios in the world.

In Iran, pistachio nuts are grown primarily and commercially in Kerman.
